Cancellation of partially and fully trains in the route between Pollachi and Podanur

As per the Southern Railway press release, due to gauge conversion work will be progressed in the following routes the train  services has been cancelled and partially cancelled. Interlocking and Non Interlocking work will be undertaken in different spells at Podanur Junction from 10.08.2013 to 26.08.2013.As a result, train services will be regulated and a number of Mail/Express, Passenger Trains as well as local trains will be Cancelled, Short Terminated and Diverted.

Inauguration of an another express train between Chennai Egmore and Manamadurai as bi-weekly service from 22nd June, 2013. Advance reservation for the inaugural special and regular trains will commence from 20.6.2013.

Thiru P. Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance will flag off the inaugural special of MANAMADURAI – CHENNAI EGMORE SILAMBU EXPRESS at Manamadurai railway station at 20.15 hrs. o­n 22.6.2013, Central/State Ministers, MLAs and other dignitaries will participate.

The inaugural special Manamadurai – Chennai Egmore will leave Manamadurai at 20.15 hrs. o­n 22.6.2013 and arrive Chennai Egmore the next day.

The regular service of Train No.16181 will commence from 26.6.2013 ex. Chennai Egmore and from 27.6.2013 ex. Manamadurai.

T.No.16181 Chennai Egmore – Manamadurai (Bi-weekly) Express will leave Chennai Egmore at 20.20 hrs. o­n Wednesdays/Saturdays and arrive Manamadurai at 07.45 hrs. the next day. Train No.16182 Manamadurai – Chennai Egmore (Bi-weekly) Express will leave Manamadurai at 20.15 hrs. o­n Thursdays/Sundays and arrive Chennai Egmore at 06.05 hrs. the next day.  The composition of the trains will be           1 AC 2-tier,  2 AC 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Pudukottai, Chettinad, Karaikkudi, Devekottai Road and Sivaganga. T.No.16182 will stop at Mambalam also.

Southern Railway introduces new daily express service between Egmore,Chennai and Velankanni

Southern Railway has decided to run a new train for the convenient of the passengers between Chennai Egmore and Velankanni. The train name is Velankannk Express, which will be commenced the service from Chennai Egmore from 22.6.2013. The advance booking for the train of Velankanni Express already started from 19.6.2013. The trains will stop at Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Peralam, Mayiladuthurai, Sirkazhi, Chidambaram, Cuddalore Port Jn., Tiruppadiripuliyur, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Melmaruvathur, Chengalpattu and Tambaram.

T.No.16185 Chennai Egmore – Velankanni (Link) Velankanni Daily Express will leave Chennai Egmore at 23.15 hrs. and arrive Velankanni at 07.45 hrs. the next day.

T.No.16186 Velankanni – Chennai Egmore (Link) Velankanni Daily Express will leave Velankanni at 20.45 hrs. and arrive Chennai Egmore at 05.25 hrs. the next day.

Train No. 16185/16186 Chennai Egmore – Velankanni – Chennai Egmore Express will run with Train No. 16175/16176 Chennai Egmore – Karaikal – Chennai Egmore Express between Chennai Egmore – Nagapattinam – Chennai Egmore in both the directions with the existing timings.

In the return direction, Train No. 07616 Madurai – Kacheguda Special will leave Madurai o­n 29th May 2013 at 14.30 hrs. and arrive Kacheguda at 16. 00 hrs. o­n the next day.

Advance reservation for Train No. 07616 Madurai – Kacheguda Special will commence on 28.05.2013.

Regular Service:

Train No. 17615 Kacheguda-Madurai Weekly Express will leave Kacheguda at 06. 05 hrs. every Saturday from 1st June 2013 and arrive Madurai at 07. 00 hrs o­n the next day.

Southern Railway press note said that the train services partially and totally cancelled on 24th and 25th this month between Chennai Central and Gudur due to line block in the respective sections.

Change in pattern of train services in Chennai Central – Gudur section and Line Block

Due to line block/power block to facilitate erection of RCC box segments for limited use subways in Chennai Central – Gudur section, the following changes will be made in the pattern of train services.

The following EMUs will run only upto Ennore and will be partially cancelled between Ennore – Gummidipoondi / Sulurpetta on  24th & 25tth MAY 2013 :

1)   Train No. 42031 MMC (Moore Market Complex) – Gummidipundi EMU scheduled to leave MMC at 17.35 hrs.

2)   Train No. 42033 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU scheduled to leave MMC at 18.30 hrs.

3)   Train No. 42605 Chennai Beach – Gummidipundi EMU scheduled to leave Chennai Beach at 18.35 hrs.

4)   Train No. 42035 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU scheduled to leave MMC at 19.35 hrs.

5)   Train No. 42037 MMC – Gummidipundi EMU scheduled to leave MMC at 20.05 hrs.
